I
have an obsessive desire to scavenge and to redeem.
Starting
with nothing, I explore what can be achieved within the bounds of
a simple, strict, source & process-oriented system: making artworks
compiled of graphic "units" reclaimed from found lettering
and imagery - mostly stripped from cheaply printed cardboard cartons.
With the use of this system, the scattered histories of different
elements combine and are recontextualized - joining together to acquire
a collective vibrancy.
The
goal here is to create art with a sense of balance and rhythm from
the most humble, minuscule, castoff bits of trash. Recycled refuse
transcends into artworks with a visual buzz. The impact is immediate
and direct: a self-contained marriage of quiet and loud.
